Allied Workers for the Blind May 4, 2012
The meeting was called to order by President Tom Jones at 7:37 pm.
President Jones led the assembly in the Lord's Prayer.
Treasurer, William Hawkins, reported that there was no activity on our account.
Twenty-five members were present.
Dues are $20 and are due next month.
Transportation and Communications Committee Chairperson Ricky Hampton reported that two cars were used for nine people.
Education and Welfare Chairperson, Terrie Arnold, reported on MCB legislative initiatives.
Corresponding Secretary, Shirley Brokaw, shared the May birthdays.
Shirley Brokaw gave an MCB Board report covering the board training and meeting in April.
Public Relations Chair, Tracy Hawkins, reported that the White Cane Walk has been postponed--probably until October, which is White Cane Safety Month. Her committee plans to work with other committees to make the walk successful.
New business:
William Hawkins gave a thrift store update.
Shirley Brokaw gave an MCB Board report for the March board meeting.
Cheryl Frank moved to pay for speaker wire. The motion was adopted.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:27 pm.
