AWB APRIL 9, 2016 MEETING MINUTES
The AWB meeting was called to order by President Hawkins. Odell Hollins led us in the reciting of the Lord’s Prayer.
Recording Secretary Shirley Brokaw called the roll, and 16 members were present and we had 3 guests: John, Sara and Tarra Coccovizzo.
Treasurer Alice Valdez reported beginning checking balance $2,040.14 ending balance $2,561.
Investments $33,805.60.
The amount of money collected for the 50/50 drawing was $40.
President's report: received correspondence from MCB pertaining to summer camp all applications except for the extended weekend must be in the MCB office by May 1, and members attending the American Council of the Blind (in Minneapolis, Minnesota) needs to let the MCB Office know by June 1.
President Hawkins thanked Merle (Activities Chairman) for having our meeting at Ponak’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar. The next meeting will be held at Alphapointe on Saturday May 14, from noon until 1:30 pm.

Activities Chairmen reported there would be an activity held on Saturday, April 23 beginning at noon through 2:30 pm. The lanes are equipped with bowling rails and of course bumpers. At the Ward Parkway Lanes 1523 W. 89th Street, Kansas City, MO
We need 6 people on the lanes, the cost is $6.49. Per person which includes shoes and bowling.
The following chairs had no report Fundraising, Education and Advocacy Health Benefits, and Membership.
Corresponding Secretary Barbara Dewberry called members to inform them where and time of our April meeting.
Public Relations Chairman Tracey Hawkins thanked the recording Secretary for receiving minutes early. Tracey will be posting pictures of the Gangster tour, and the presenting of the check to the student at Children’s Center on AWB web site.
